T-Mobile Discontinuing Sidekick Service May 31

T-Mobile announced that as of May 31 of this year, it will be shutting down the Danger Service, and Sidekick devices will no longer have access to it. T-Mobile said that it will help existing Sidekick users transition their data from their Sidekick device to another device, computer, or account through various tools. T-Mobile has made a new version of myT-Mobile.com available that Sidekick users can take advantage of to back up all their data -- including contacts, photos, calendar items, notes, etc. There is also an application available in the Sidekick Catalog that will let users export their data to a memory card. Last, Sidekick users may also bring their device to a T-Mobile store, where personal data may be transferred to a new device. T-Mobile said more information will become available over the course of the next few weeks. T-Mobile discontinued sales of Sidekick devices last summer, though it did announced in January that it was planning to bring a "Sidekick 4G" to market some time this year. (follow link to read)
