FCC Outs Another Huawei-Made MyTouch for T-Mobile
According to documents seen on the Federal Communications Commission web site, Huawei has a second MyTouch Android smartphone in the works for T-Mobile USA. The Huawei U8730, also referred to in the documentation as the Ascend G 312 Qwerty, is a follow up to the U8680, which also recently cleared the FCC. Where the U8680 was a monoblock device, the U8730 has a QWERTY keyboard, according to the FCC documents. The device label in the FCC documents refers to the U8730 as the "T-Mobile myTouch Q," which strongly suggests that this will be the final name of the device. It also supports the 850/1900MHz and AWS 1700MHz bands, which are the spectrum bands used by T-Mobile USA's 2G and 3G networks. The U8730 also supports WCDMA in the 950/1900MHz bands. Neither T-Mobile nor Huawei has announced this device.
