Apple Just 'Renewed' with Google on Maps App

Speaking during an interview with AllThingsD's Walter Mossberg and Kara Swisher, Swisher asked former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, "Will the map relationship end" with Apple? In response, Schmidt said, "I hope not, we just renewed with them." Google provides the mapping data used in the mapping application for Apple's iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Schmidt didn't provide any additional information about the terms of the deal. What it does mean is that Apple will not be using another source for its mapping data, at least in the short term.(follow link to read)
