Apple CEO Takes Second Medical Leave
Apple today said that CEO Steve Jobs is taking a second medical leave of absence. In a letter to Apple's staff, Jobs wrote, "At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company. I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for all of Apple's day to day operations." In January 2009, Jobs announced a similar medical leave. He returned to Apple's helm in the third quarter of 2009. Jobs has not provided an indication on when he expects to return to Apple.(follow link to read)
