Facebook Squashes 'HTC Facebook Phone' Reports

Facebook today has responded to reports that it is working with HTC to make a Facebook-branded phone. Dan Rose, head of business development at Facebook, said, "The rumors around there being something more to this HTC device are overblown. This is really just another example of a manufacturer who has taken our public APIs (application programing interfaces) and integrated them into their device in an interesting way." Reports had suggested that HTC and Facebook would introduce a new dedicated social networking phone at Mobile World Congress next month. HTC does, however, integrate a lot of Facebook's features into its own Sense user interface overlay on Android devices, including its FriendStream software.(follow link to read)
