HTC: LTE Phone in 2011, No Sense on WinPho7
Speaking in an interview with FierceWireless, HTC CEO Peter Chou provided some insight on HTC's current and future smartphone plans. First, Chou said that it will bring a Long Term Evolution smartphone to market in 2011. "HTC was the first with 3G smartphone and 4G smartphone, and we are definitely looking to future network technologies," he said. Chou didn't provide details more than that. Changing topics, Chou noted that the company will not deploy Sense on Windows Phone 7 devices in its current state. "Initially, we don't have time to bring things on top of [Windows Phone 7]. But over time we will innovate on top of that to provide some HTC experience. I don't think we would do complete Sense UI on Windows Phone 7. However, I will say that we will innovate differently to improve the experience and to get some HTC unique and differentiated experience on Windows Phone 7 in the future." Sense is a user interface overlay that HTC developed for some of its Android and Windows Mobile devices.
