Google today provided an update to the Android software developer kit and other associated tools. The new version, being called Revision 17, adds a number of new features for developers as well as bug fixes for the coding tools. Some of the new features include an Android API call check, 40 new rules for Lint as well as Lint warning suppressions, and improved HTML and XML reporting and Eclipse integration. The new SDK also updates the Emulator (notably with experimental support for multitouch input through a tethered Android device) and an updated Support Library. The tools may be downloaded from Google's Android developer web site.
