Activists Want 'Obsolete' Cell Tower Rules Changed
Three activist organizations are petitioning congress in hopes that it will require the Federal Communications Commission to update cell tower safety regulations. Citizens for Health, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, and ElectromagneticHealth.org believe the current laws are out-dated and ignore all the current science and research regarding RF radiation. The groups said, "People who live near cell towers and antennas are in jeopardy. The science is increasingly clear that there are biological effects from both acute and chronic exposures to non-thermal microwave radiation. It is essential we have a government that puts the public's health above commercial interests." The groups are asking that U.S. citizens contact their representatives in order to push the idea through congress. The current rules have been in place since 1996. Dozens of studies from around the world contradict one another over the carcinogenic effects of cell phone RF radiation.
