Verizon Wireless Officially Ending 'New Every Two' Upgrades
Verizon Wireless has confirmed for the Wall Street Journal that it is ending its New Every Two upgrade promotion effective January 16. Under the terms of the deal, Verizon Wireless subscribers became eligible for discounts (between $30 and $100) towards new phones every two years. Beginning January 16, Verizon Wireless will not offer the New Every Two upgrade to new customers, and will not extend it for current customers after their next upgrade. In addition to dropping New Every Two, Verizon has also tweaked some of its other upgrade policies, though the changes don't apply to all users. Subscribers should check with Verizon to see which policies apply to them. These policy changes go into effect approximately two weeks before Apple's iPhone 4 goes on sale via Verizon.
